Mission Statement
The Tinton Falls Public Library is the cultural heart of our Borough. The mission of the Library is to add value to the community by providing welcoming customer service and access to resources for all of our patrons from preschool children to senior adults. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life in our town by promoting literacy and lifelong learning. We encourage a lively atmosphere of discovery.
History
The Tinton Falls Public Library was founded in 1961 by a dedicated group of local residents who collected books door-to-door and initially occupied a space in a corner of the Luther Memorial Church before moving to a larger space in the old borough hall. The library moved to its present location on Tinton Avenue in front of the Tinton Falls Middle School in approximately 1975. In 2017, we had 4900 library card holders. In addition to circulation of a variety of materials, we also provided internet access, programs, and meeting space for preschoolers to seniors, all available at no cost to the residents of Tinton Falls.

The library closed in August of 2017 because mold was discovered in the attached trailer, which was connected to the building in 2015 for use as office and meeting space. Since then, the trailer has been removed, the mold has been remediated, and the library building has been repaired. The library reopened on November 23, 2024.
